Humorous "sketches" of human interest stories by Max Fleischer, who headed The Jam Handy' Organization's animation department in the mid 1940s and 1950s.

The News Sketches were a series of animated shorts that served as a type of newscast, covering current events in a quick and concise manner through animation. These shorts were often used as a form of light entertainment while also being informative, providing a summary of the events of the time, including politics, economics, culture, and technology.

Max Fleischer, famous for creating iconic characters like Betty Boop and Popeye, also worked on the production of educational and current affairs shorts, which were distributed through cinema chains.

(The Prelinger Archives are a source of educational material, mainly ordered by theme, giving a vision of the dark side, the underbelly, perhaps naive of the American dream and the America that is often hidden behind the media curtain.)
