Dalila Ennadre, a multi-award winning filmmaker of Moroccan origin, grew up in Saint-Denis, France. She studied filmmaking as a self-taught filmmaker and turned to documentary filmmaking. She was known for her documentaries on everyday life in Morocco and her portraits of women. Her films have travelled all over the world and have won awards at various festivals.

From 1985 to 1996, she lived successively in Guyana, Germany, Morocco and Montreal. During this period, she worked as a production manager on television series and institutional films.

In 1987, she made her first documentary film, Par la grâce d’Allah . In 2002, she won the Clermont-Ferrand Grand Prix for Traces de vies. In 2009, his film J'ai tant aimé was awarded the prize for best documentary at the African Film Festival in Tarifa (Spain). In 2014, Des murs et des hommes was awarded the Grand prix documentaire at the Festival du cinéma maghrébin d'Alger. It also received the TV 2M Grand Prix at the Agadir Film Festival of the same year.

A few months before his death, he put the finishing touches to his last film: Jean Genet, Notre père de fleurs, shot in Larache, with the family of the caretakers of the Spanish cemetery where Jean Genet lies.
